The ground rules — written in plain language, because terms you can't understand protect nobody.

1. Agreeing to these terms

By using Ricepurity Tester, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree with them, the fix is simple: please don't use the Site. We've kept these terms short and honest, which we hope makes agreeing easy.

2. What this Site is and what it isn't

Ricepurity Tester hosts self-graded quizzes based on the century-old purity test tradition. The tests are entertainment and self-reflection tools only. They are not and must never be treated as a psychological evaluation, a medical or mental-health assessment, a measure of character or worth or professional advice of any kind. While our content is reviewed by our team for tone and appropriateness, no score on this Site diagnoses, evaluates, or defines you. If any topic in a test raises real concerns for you, please speak with a qualified professional.

3. Who each edition is for

Our test editions are written for different audiences and using the right one matters:

If you are a minor, please use the teen editions. Parents and guardians: the teen editions are the pages designed for your kids, see our Privacy Policy for how little data this Site touches (none, unless someone contacts us).

4. Your answers and your device

Test answers and scores are processed entirely in your browser and saved only on your own device. We never receive them, which also means we can't recover, transfer, or delete them for you, clearing your browser's site data or using a test's Retake button is entirely in your hands. 5. Our content

The purity-test tradition itself belongs to internet culture but the specific question sets, editions, text, design, and code of this Site are original work created for Ricepurity Tester. You're welcome to share your score anywhere (that's the fun), link to the Site, and quote reasonably with attribution. You may not copy our test editions or substantial parts of the Site to run a competing service, or present our work as your own.

6. Acceptable use

Don't use the Site to do harm: no attempting to disrupt or overload the Site, no scraping at scale, no using our contact form to send spam, abuse, or unlawful content, and no misrepresenting scores or Site content in a way designed to harass others (share scores for laughs, not for bullying, especially where teens are involved).

7. Not affiliated with Rice University

Ricepurity Tester is independently owned and operated. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Rice University in any official capacity. The name reflects the cultural tradition of the test, which originated as a student activity there a century ago.

8. Third-party links and services

The Site links to third-party services (such as our Instagram) and loads standard technical resources from third parties (described in the Privacy Policy). Those services have their own terms and policies, which govern your use of them, we're not responsible for third-party content or practices.

9. No warranties & limitation of liability

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We work hard to keep it fast, accurate and online, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ricepurity Tester and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Site, which, for an entertainment quiz that stores nothing, we hope remains a very theoretical paragraph.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page, and continued use of the Site after posting constitutes acceptance. Meaningful changes will move the date below.
